When pregnancy strikes you jump up and down with joy, tell all your friends, then go straight to bed. Which is exactly what I did for the first couple weeks when we found out I was pregnant again. So, in an awkward blog message, WE ARE PREGNANT!! and we are having a darling little girl! We could not be more thrilled.
When I was pregnant with my son 2 years ago, I made an active decision that I would not let pregnancy slow me down. And I didn’t. I hiked every single day up until the day I gave birth, my husband and I went on backpacking trips up until I was 8 months pregnant, we went paddle boarding, running, canyoneering, you name it. I told myself this pregnancy was going to be no different, but this time we have a toddler.
I spent the first couple of weeks in a daze of exhaustion. I don’t know if it was a the first trimester of pregnancy that stole all of my energy, or if it was my toddler, but I’m coming believe it was a fine mix of the two that left me in bed and on the sofa for the first few weeks. Thank god, just as quickly as that came, it went away and my family had their mommy back. We got right back to our adventures and we were all happily satisfied again.
One awesome thing I have noticed about being an outdoor enthusiast, even during pregnancy, is that when you give birth to that darling little baby; chances are, they too, are going to be just like you! My son Bodhi has a deep inner yearning to be outside in nature unlike anyone I have ever seen. He absolutely loves it and he needs it! This is my biggest accomplishment. I am certainly hoping for the same outcome for our daughter, and as we travel to beautiful places, hike around, explore and adventure, I feel like we are off to a very good start!
I am going to post more blogs about the adventures we’ve been on in the last couple months as I have neglected to blog for quite some time. Stay tuned.
